was created for purposes of the operational program of the Region of Western Greece for Strengthening Small and Medium Enterprises
for research projects in the fields of “Microelectronics” and “advanced materials” and in collaboration with the Technological Educational Foundation of Western Greece Dept. of Agricultural Technicians and the University of Patras.
in an innovative solution of services provided to farm owners, businesses and agencies, who want to achieve savings in their expenditure on chemical inorganic fertilizers and water but also to engage in environmentally friendly actions such as the protection and sustainable management of soil and water resources.
The system consists
of two separate portable and easy-to-use electronic subsystems with their own specific technical characteristics:
- The soil sampling recording system
- The transport system in the laboratory, permanently connected to the internet.
These two systems work together and collaborate as a pair so that when the user takes the appropriate surface soil samples their geographic location is automatically recorded and at a second time when they place them in the transport system – which is a specially designed portable storage chamber – they are measured and periodic physicochemical characteristics are sent during the transport of the sample from the collection point to the soil laboratory.
